This song is so special to me. It was inspired by my professor and menor, June Jordan whose 'Poetry For the People' clss at UC Berkeley helped me find my unique voice.
The song finally came together after Omar Gusamao brought the skeleton to Keith Harris who brought the magic out of it with Lance Tolbert. Then the vocal session with DQ the Vocal Guru and my friends Traci Nelson, Franklin Davis and Skyler Jordan came in the studio and lent their brilliance. This is what we made, and I LOVE THIS RECORD!
